TOPIC: The Origin Of The Word "Christian"
TEXT: Act 11:21 

MESSAGE
The word Christian is far different from Judaism, and it is not related to religious sects like the Pharisees, Sadducees, Scribes, Sanhedrin or Zealots and the likes. Though the name was not used in the old testament there were priests, prophets Kings and subjects that lived a righteous life with the fear of God. The word Christian originated from the progeny of Christ after He ascended. It is simply defined as disciples and followers of Christ who had a serious thought embracing the religion of Christ using it as their chief care to shape their lives through His precepts and examples. They are the believers that had completely disciplined themselves to the way of life Christ displayed here on earth. The name Christian is not bought with money, position or affluence. It is not to be demanded or forcefully retained.



It is like respect which can never be demanded but can only be earned. It was what comes out of you- i.e your character, attitude and behavior. It was this togetherness, unity, love, sharing and breaking of bread governed by the fear and strict compliance to the authority and power of God together with the powerful propagation of the gospel of Christ as witnessed by the gentiles and proselytes that brought about the name Christian about 43AD in Antioch. Verse 26 of our text recorded 
"And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch, and it came to pass that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch". 
Beloved, it is not by profession, it is by commission and possession of it that gives both the promise of the life now and that which is to come. Happy Sunday.

START WITH PRAISE & WORSHIP..
1. Thank God for a new day.
2. Pray God to enable you live up to His expectation. 
3. Pray that your life will bring glory to God not reproach.
4. Pray that God should enable the end time church to attain the attitude and characters of the early church.

TOPIC: The True Picture Of The Church Today II TEXT: Rev. 3:15  MESSAGE "I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot".Vs 15, so then because thou art lukewarm, neither cold nor hot, I will spew thee out of my mouth. Lukewarmness and indifference in religion is the worst tempter in the world. The husband of a lukewarm wife is always confused as he would not know when and how to please the wife. So are members of the church whose heart cannot be determined. They are between two opinions. We also have these in the church because they are high minded and proud, they have unknowingly overlooked the necessity of their souls as they gorgeously dressed up in Costly apparel at the expense and decay of their souls, making them to be wretched poor and miserable.  Also there is the state of blindness which the devil is using against the church today which has made them very weak and defensele...
