EasyEnglish - To start a quarrel is like the first small hole in a *dam. Stop it before it is too late.
ISV - Starting a quarrel is like spilling water— so drop the dispute before it escalates.
NHEB - The beginning of strife is like breaching a dam, therefore stop contention before quarreling breaks out.

Being preventive is wisdom. Early detection and immediately reaction/action is the key to a wild calamity. The saying, "A stitch in time saves nine", is not wrong.

God wants us to act with wisdom to prevent issues that are preventable rather than crying for help later when the issue has gone out of hand.

Look at Abram, he acted wisely and prevented the expected strife between Lot and himself. This is a way of living in peace with all men. 2 Corinthians 13:11, 1 Thessalonians 5:13, 1 Timothy 2:2, Romans 14:19, 2 Timothy 2:22, Hebrews 12:14 & Psalms 34:14.

As we make it our aim to be preventive in life and live in peace, may God's Peace reign in you!!
