[61] Just then, the Master turned and looked at Peter. Peter remembered what the Master had said to him: "Before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times. "

Before now, Peter had maintained a full confidence in his self that no matter what hr can't deny Christ. But his self failed him. No matter how strong the self may be, it can't stand for us especially in the things of the kingdom.

Beloved the lesson here is in serving God, we should never rely on self but on the spirit. The same Peter that self failed became bold when he was filled with the Holy Spirit. You see the role of the Spirit here? Witnessing and standing for Christ is not done with the human nature (self) but with the spirit nature.

The spirit nature is not afraid of physical death, troubles and challenges. This is why we all need the Spirit and not self. May God's spirit be poured upon all Christians worldwide so that the persecution against Christianity will not be successful, Amen!!
