Watch Your Temper and Spirit

Proverbs 16:32 –He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.

The human’s temperament is a determinant to many things like peace, relationship stability and others likewise, the human’s spirit. This is the reason for self-control. Self-control is the ability to control the temper and restrain the human spirit from some certain actions.

Our master Jesus showed us a great example of self-control. That is why we are admonish to have the mind that was in Christ Jesus. But can the temper and human spirit be controlled by the physical? It takes the Holy Spirit to control these duos but it starts from our decision of controlling it.

Nabal would have been destroyed because he lost control of his self (1 Samuel 25). Samson was unable to fulfil his mission as planned by God, because he didn’t control his temper and spirit despite he was a mighty man (Judges 14 - 16). Beloved, pray earnestly that God should help you in this aspect.

The anger of human can’t produce the righteousness of God (James 1:20) and going always by the human spirit can’t give life (Romans 8:6). God help us all in Jesus name, Amen. Shalom!
