Leviticus 1:4

4 Then he shall put his hand on the head of the burnt offering, and it will be accepted on his behalf to make atonement for him.

The practice of the Old Testament is a shadow of what we have in Jesus Christ now. Jesus has it for you and I once and for all (Hebrews 10:10-12).

When an offerer of a burnt offering or a sin offering lays his/her hand on the animal, the spotless and unblemished nature of the animal is transferred to the offerer but for just a short time. Jesus in the same way went to the cross on our behalf and covered us all.

Our faith in Jesus has activated this coverage hence we are accepted by God. Jesus made us joint heir with him unto the father. So as Jesus is unto Jehovah so are we unto God because he looks not directly on us but through Jesus (who is our Mediator) on us.

Let 1 John 4:15 be in your mind always that You are in Jesus and in God through your confession and believe in Jesus. God treats you with favour, delight, acceptance because the perfection and beauty of Jesus’ person is on you.

Faulty Covenant

Faulty Covenant Hebrews 8:7 [7] For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. Covenant as a strong bound that is not easily broken can be faulty. The covenant made betwixt God and the Israelites was a faulty covenant in this time of Grace but perfect in it's time. The covenant wasn't to lead sinner's unto Christ's but it was to lead them unto their destructive end quickly. The old covenant was a period of darkness and pains (because it was more by works and not by grace) but thanks to God who invalidated the old covenant and gave us the covenant of Grace where Jesus is the mediator no longer Moses. God spoken of the new covenant long ago in Jeremiah 31:31; it was manifested in Christ. This new covenant brings light to the soul. Entering His Rest Hebrews 4:3 KJV For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. Total Increase and Perfect Rest 2016 was given by God. Looking at REST again, we found out there is no rest without believing in God the rest author and giver. Rest in this context is not death but a state of no physical struggles before benefits. Rest is a state of divine favour, no toiling all night and nothing to show. Believing in God is the prerequisite to entering His rest. His disciples entered into rest because 'At His word they cast their net', Luke 5:5; likewise the Zarephath woman in 1 Kings 17:15.
