Lay Them Off

Lay Them Off Hebrews 12:1 – Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us The moment that you and I declared ourselves for Jesus, we became the point of interest to the world. The world started watching and monitoring you and I, to see how long we will be in the new faith and also to see, point and announce our shortcomings. This is the great cloud of witness that is compassed about us. We are Christians walking towards perfection. This perfection is gotten by the laying off of weights and sin that beset us easily [often and often]. These weights and sins to some are lay off at once but to some it is a gradual process. The final point is let the weights and sins be laid off! Beloved you know yourself; after you do your self-examination then lay off the weights and sins that have beset you. If the sins and weights...

Do Self-Examination

Do Self-Examination 2 Corinthians 13:5 – Examine your own selves if ye be in the faith; prove your own selves: do ye not recognise yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you, unless indeed ye be reprobates? As Christians, there is a need for constant self-examination. This is not to condemn one’s self but to know if one is growing in the faith. Truly, we are the only one that knows ourselves and none can help us in the examination of our faith. In this world, there are times that one might go astray [either by manipulations or by will] and do what is wrong but with the consciousness of self-examination, one will that has gone astray and done what is bad will be brought back. The prodigal son did this self-examination and he came back to his sense, went to his father and was saved; Luke 15:18. Beloved of God, self-examination is never to condemn yourself but to retrace your steps and return to the old path [way]; Jeremiah 6:16. Self-examination is the process undergone in order th...

What Is The Access?

What Is The Access? John 10:1-2 – Truly I say to you, He who does not go through the door into the place where the sheep are kept, but gets in by some other way, is a thief and an outlaw. He who goes in by the door is the keeper of the sheep. The access used matters a lot. There is a door and there are ‘doors’ as well as there is a way and there are ‘ways’. We the sheep should always watch the access used to get to us. Is it through the door or through the ‘doors’? The ‘doors’ are those that seems like the door but are in no way the door. The Bible makes us to understand that the door and the way is Jesus; John 10:7-9, John 14:6. Any keeper of the sheep [church leader or pastor or teacher of the Bible] that is not accessing the sheep [teaching, nurturing, grooming and pruning the sheep] in the name of Jesus is a thief and an outlaw so says the Bible. It is our responsibility as the sheep to know the access used in reaching us. Are we being taught in the name of the Lord Jesu...

Don’t Try It!

Don’t Try It! Job 9:4b – who hath hardened himself against him, and hath prospered? God and human are not the same and can never be the same. The way human relate with human should never be the same way they relate with God. Human can oppose another and excel in the opposition or rebellion but he or she can never excel when the other party is God. History shows that people that tried to harden themselves against God never succeeded notably Pharaoh, Jezebel, Balaam, Haman and others. Some even die in the act of them hardening themselves against God. Beloved, we are to learn from history and never harden ourselves before the Lord God of Heaven. Don’t ever try to rebel against God. Do what He has asked you to do for in obeying lies your good, blessings and wonders. Once the word has come to you, don’t continue in the old way by hardening yourself. I pray that God will help us all to never in any way harden ourselves before God. May the spirit of obedience, meekness and contritene...

First Test

First Test 1 John 4:1 – My loved ones, do not put your faith in every spirit, but put them to the test, to see if they are from God: because a great number of false prophets have gone out into the world In a time like this [end time], believers have to be very careful and observant. They have to not just trust every spirit or put their faith in every spirit. The Bible advised us to test all spirits [irrespective of who the person is that the spirit is working through. This test is likening to the litmus test. The result to conclude is in verse 2 and 3 which says, “By this you may have knowledge of the Spirit of God: every spirit which says that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit which does not say this is not from God: this is the spirit of Antichrist, of which you have had word; and it is in the world even now.” Beloved, the confession is not just from the mouth by more from action and behaviour, remember actions speak more and the early disciples we...

The Same Jesus

The Same Jesus Hebrews 13:8 – Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and for ever. From everlasting to everlasting Jesus remains the same. He never changes and He never fails. The God of old is still the same God today. What He did in time past [in the Bible days and in the recent past of your life] is not bigger than Him now. He can still do it perfectly. Have this mentality that Jesus is the same. That same God that healed and delivered has not changed and He will heal and deliver you in any aspect that you need His help. Don’t ever believe that God has change or that the efficacy of His power has been reduced. Rather in this dispensation of greater grace, we have at our disposal what was difficult in the days of old. Grace supplies all that we need. Beloved, Jesus has not changed and will not change. Continue to believe in God and hold unto Him. The difficulty of life presently doesn't mean that God has neglected you or that God has changed. Jesus is working in yo...

In Same Manner

In Same Manner Acts 1:11 – Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven. Many people teach and believe that Jesus is not coming back again. Some even teach that Jesus will be coming as the archangel and others. The above scripture is a clear word that needs no advance spiritual insight or knowledge to understand it. Jesus is coming back in the same manner that He was taken into Heaven. He is coming back not as an archangel but as the same Jesus. I Thessalonians 4:16 Beloved don’t be misled by false teachers. Jesus is coming back and all eyes will behold Him in glory and splendour, Matthew 24:30-31, 2 Thessalonians 1:7; Jesus is not coming as an archangel but as the same Jesus with greater power, honour, authority and majesty. Beloved, be prepared and never let your salvation to be swiftly destroyed by the teachings of false teachers. Sha...

Let God Lead

Let God Lead Psalms 127:1-2 – If the Lord is not helping the builders, then the building of a house is to no purpose: if the Lord does not keep the town, the watchman keeps his watch for nothing. It is of no use for you to get up early, and to go late to your rest, with the bread of sorrow for your food; for the Lord gives to his loved ones in sleep. When God is not leading a life then living becomes of no use. Lack of favour, hard luck and many ills are the evidence of a life that is not led by God. It is not about having God in your life this time around but it is about letting God lead your life. It is very important that we should all have God in our life but also, it is very important to let God lead our life. The importance of this can be seen in Moses’ speech in Exodus 33:15, he refused to go unless God’s presence [which is God] go with him. Also you see the verse 2 of the main scripture, without God’s leading hustling and struggling makes no way forward. Beloved, having God ...

Sheep’s Clothing!

Sheep’s Clothing! Matthew 7:14 – Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. It is no more a news that there are many false prophets in this world. They have been even since the Bible days. Elymas in Acts 13:8 was a false prophet that tried to pervert the heart of the people from God. That is the work of these false prophets. They are workers of the devil and nothing about their life is God’s; from the outside they look like God’s prophets and messengers but they are recruiting souls for the devil. They use magic, human wisdom, human strategies to do their work. Consider again, Balaam to an extent I will consider him as a false prophet because he tried to curse the blessed of God and to stop the will of God for His children. Though Balaam hears from God but he wasn’t doing things according to God’s plan and agenda. He planned to even make God’s children fall. Please read Revelation 2:14 and Jude 1:11. Those in sheep’s c...

Take His and Learn!

Take His and Learn! Matthew 11:29 – Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Hello God’s Image! Jesus’ call of coming unto Him for rest is like an advert that reads come and we will make you a billionaire but the process of making you a billionaire is known only after obeying the call. Now that you have come unto Jesus, how can the rest to your troubles manifest? Jesus gave us the key in His speech, “Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me …”. Taking Christ’s yoke and learning from Him is the key to having rest. To take Christ’s yoke is to do His will and let go of yourself. It is to seek first His Father’s kingdom. It is to obey the command of Evangelism and to reconcile the unsaved to God [reconciliation was Christ’s main purpose of coming, 2 Corinthians 5:18-20]. Note that Christ’s yoke is very light and His burden’s weight is negligible. The other vital key here as said by Jesus is to learn from Him...

Just Come!

Just Come! Matthew 11:28 – Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Jesus is so gracious and keen to give rest to every troubled and heavy laden soul. One of His purposes of coming is to give rest to humanity- to stop the defeated and profitless life of human. How can this be? Jesus giving us rest is just by our coming. That is the first and basic criteria to having divine rest from God. How can we come? Does it mean until we die and meet Jesus before we can have rest? No! We come to Jesus through our faith in Him. We need nothing else first but just faith. Jesus is bidding us come, just as we are and nothing more. Some will say you have to be perfect and holy before coming unto Jesus and before having rest. No! Jesus came not for the perfect and holy; Matthew 9:12; and it is not primarily your perfection and holiness that will give you rest but your coming to Jesus. Just obey the bidding and come first then you will see how your rest will ...

Return! Don’t Complain 2

Return! Don’t Complain 2 Jeremiah 15:20-21 – And I will make thee unto this people a fenced brazen wall: and they shall fight against thee, but they shall not prevail against thee: for I am with thee to save thee and to deliver thee, saith the LORD. I will keep you safe from the hands of the evil-doers, and I will give you salvation from the hands of the cruel ones. Today we are discussing the benefits of returning to God. When we return to God, God will not just return to us but He will also make us His mouth [mouthpiece]. Let us also see some benefits of returning to God: A fenced brazen wall stands for protection. God will give you and I protection whenever we are in Him. His protection is both spiritual and physical. Note that His protection doesn’t stop them from fighting, but they will fight and they will never prevail. Remember, protection is of the Lord and none can protect anything. God guarantees us that we will be kept safe. No evil doer or wicked one will prevail ove...

Return! Don’t Complain 1

Return! Don’t Complain 1 Jeremiah 15:18-19 – Why is my pain unending and my wound without hope of being made well? Sorrow is mine, for you are to me as a stream offering false hope and as waters which are not certain. For this cause the Lord has said, If you will come back, then I will again let you take your place before me; and if you give out what is of value and not that which has no value, you will be as my mouth: let them come back to you, but do not go back to them. When things go people often complain and maybe blame others but this is not the right thing to do. See the advice here given by the Lord. We have to come back to Him for sorrow, wounds and pains to end. May God give us the grace to obey Him and not to be rebel or take His grace for us granted. I often say that when someone rebel against God, the creatures and nature rebel against that person. The best way to avoid calamity in life is to obey God and not to be a rebel to God. If you are at a difference with human...

Prevent The Worst!

Prevent The Worst! Judges 6:1-10 – Verse 10 --- And I said to you, I am the Lord your God; you are not to give worship to the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living, but you did not give ear to my voice Things will never be the same when there is disobedience and rebellion of human to God. God is always faithful and always defend and protects His obedient children. When the children of Israel were obedient they prevented the worse. The Midianites couldn’t touch them. To prevent the worst is simply to hearken to the instructions of God. The instructions are for our benefit and progress. Disobedience to the word of God makes everything to rebel against the disobedient. You can see from verse 1 that God gave the Israelite into the hands of the Midianites because of their disobedience [evil]. I pray that the grace to be obedient be given to us. Whatsoever that makes us to disobey God, let it be destroyed. Nobody will feed on your hard labour. Pray daily that God will empo...

Do You Know?

Do You Know? Job 19:25 – For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: If there is one thing a believer should always have is the assurance of being with Jesus by grace. This assurance starts from the point when a believer knows that God will never leave him/her alone. Job, a man declared by God as upright was faced with calamity and temptation to the point that he would have left the faith, but the scripture above was his confession. He spoke positively because he knew that God will never leave him alone and even if it is the will of God for him to die in the temptation, he will see God. What’s your confidence as a believer? Do you believe and know that the God you serve is always with you or do you think that God is not always present? Exodus 6:6, Isaiah 43:1-4, Jeremiah 42:11. You can see from the scriptures above, that God is always with you and nothing can defeat or destroy you. Know this fact and confess it every time that...

Behaviour Makes or Mars

Behaviour Makes or Mars Proverbs 4:26 – Keep a watch on your behaviour; let all your ways be rightly ordered. Child of God, are you thinking why we are advised in such a way concerning our behaviour? Why should a child of God keep a watch on his or her behaviour? Does our behaviour have anything to do with our purpose on earth or to the faith as Christian? Yes! Our behaviour is very important to the faith and in realization of our purpose on earth. Christ condemned the hypocrites and the Pharisees because they behaved in contrast to what they teach. It was the behaviours of the early disciples that gave them the name Christians [meaning Christ like]. Queen Vashti was stripped of her honour because of her behaviour, Esther 1:12. Nabal was near instant destruction because of his behaviour, 1 Samuel 25:10. Beloved, there are many instances like that in the Bible. Do you want to go to the top? Do you want to be made and fulfil your purpose here on earth? Do you want avoid blasphemi...

Choose Your Way

Choose Your Way Proverbs 4:18-19 – But the way of the upright is like the light of early morning, getting brighter and brighter till the full day. The way of sinners is dark; they see not the cause of their fall. It is known globally that every reaction is from an action; even Newton’s third law of motion acknowledges this fact. Spiritually, the scriptures made us to know that what we sown is what we reap. The life we live is as a result of what we do and who we are. Don’t ever misunderstand grace as it can never make someone to reap good after sowing bad. From today’s scripture, we see that the way [life and events] of an upright man [a man that reverentially fear the Lord and eschew evil] is always filled with light. This light is from the Lord in order that the upright man’s path will be brightened and the upright will not fall into a pit. So beloved, if you want to excel and have a light filled life, reverentially fear the Lord and eschew evil. It is the darkness in the pa...

Don’t Break It!

Don’t Break It! Ecclesiastes 10:8b – … and whoso breaketh an hedge, a serpent shall bite him. When the door is broken or left opened, there is no restriction to anything passing through it. Every life has an hedge that keeps the life safe from then evil of his or her environment. The hedge is a result of a covenant, and when the covenant is kept the hedge is not broken. Many a times in the Bible, we see instances when the Lord allowed the Israelite to be taken into captivity as a result of them breaking the covenant. Please read Isaiah 5:1-7, Ezekiel 39:23. God gave them as captives despite they are His covenant children. Beloved, the hedge over your life should not be broken by your actions. Breaking the hedge means destruction and destructive happenings. You see it in the above scripture, the snake [satan and his agents] only bite [strike] a believer if the hedge is out. Yes there is grace but grace has a covenant too, that is why grace is not equal. Grace abused can’t work....

I’m Exceptional!

I’m Exceptional! Job 22:29 – When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person As a result of your faith in Christ, there is a difference between you and others. When people will be complaining of lack, your testimony will be sufficiency. This is why Jesus said, ‘My Peace I give unto you, not as the world gives, gives I” – John 14:27. You see that you are not as those of the world. In no way are you like them. Have this belief in you that you are exceptional. When others fail you will succeed. When others cry, you will laugh. When others are in darkness, you will be in light. This was the case with the Egyptians and Israelite. – Exodus 10:23. Beloved, it takes just being in Christ to be exceptional. Let Christ take the lead in your life and be obedient to His instructions. Don’t break the covenant so that the earth will not rebel against you. Shalom.

Your Solution!

Your Solution! Psalm 146:5-9 –  … Who gives their rights to those who are crushed down; and gives food to those who are in need of it: the Lord makes the prisoners free; ... To every problem there is a solution. To shock you a bit, the solution to every problem exist before the problem. Then what is the solution? Jesus is the solution to every problem. From the scriptures above, you can see that Jesus is the key to every problem. He opens the eyes of the blind, lifts the poor, and takes care of those that are lowly and lots more. There is a clause to you and I have this solution, and this is “… the Lord is a lover of the upright”. We must be upright and sinless to have access to this solution. Beloved, don’t look elsewhere for solution to any problem you are going through. All you have to do is to look unto Jesus as your help and He will help you out from every problem. Shalom.

Tradition of Men

Tradition of Men Colossians 2:8 – Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ In the journey of following Christ, as long as you are still on earth, you have to beware of the traditions of men. The traditions of men are always in contrast to the mind and will of God. The things of the spirit can’t be understood and interpreted by acquiring degrees but by the spirit of God. Anyone who uses philosophy and enticing words to teach you the scriptures should be deserted by you. Avoid those kinds of people no matter their portfolio. Beloved, ensure that the salvations you have gotten is kept safe by you. This you can do by avoiding the tradition of men. What are these traditions? Matthew 15:1-6, Mark 7:1-13. Anything that contradicts the word of God is the tradition of men. Be wise and keep your salvation. Shalom!

You’re Not Guilty

You’re Not Guilty Romans 5:1 – Since we stand justified as the result of faith, let us continue to enjoy the peace we have with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. (MNT) Greetings beloved! There is something that you should know and strongly believe; as a Christian and a believer, you are not guilty as charged by the devil. The blood of Jesus has justified you and all others that have faith in Him. Truly, sometime ago you and I were guilty because then the prices has not been paid and we were still in the kingdom of darkness but when Christ was manifested and He died then we were redeemed and translated. Yes! You are free and guiltless. Are you thinking why satan the devil is still accusing you? Give no ear to satan. Continue in the faith knowing that satan has been an accuser and he will try to defeat you by presenting your past to you. Always confess your guiltless state in Christ Jesus then the peace that passes all understanding will be felt and seen in your life. I pray th...

A Member or Partner?

A Member or Partner? Matthew 28:19-20 – Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Brothers and Sisters, being a Christian is not enough. Are you a member or a partner? Are you a saved Christian or a saving Christian? The disciples were saved but Christ commissioned them into saving others. They were members [not just multitude members but disciple member] but Christ command them to be partners. Beloved, shift from being a member to becoming a partner of the Gospel. Be actively involved for the expansion of God’s kingdom on earth, 1 Corinthians 3:9. Be involved and don’t be a spectator! Your role in word investment and God’s kingdom expansion is important and can’t be neglected, 1 Corinthians 9:6. Invest massively in God’s kingdom. Grace to becoming God’s kingdom p...

Hearing of Faith

Hearing of Faith Galatians 3:2 – This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? We are made or marred by what we hear. The hearing of faith brought the Holy Spirit upon the hearers. People that spend time on the hearing of the laws get nothing from it except bondage and the effects of the law. The law referred here are those laws instituted by the wisdom and philosophy of man and those law of old such as the ceremonial law, cleanse law among others. Listen beloved, Christ has fulfilled those laws for us hence we should not tie our life to the laws but to faith [having faith and believing in Jesus Christ], Acts 3:18, Galatians 3:13. The hearing of faith brings the Spirit and the Spirit brings life, light and liberty. Keep hearing the sound and undiluted faith as handed unto the disciples [and us today] by Christ Jesus. Shalom.

You’ve Been Translated

You’ve Been Translated Colossians 1:13 – Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: Hello beloved! As long as you are a believer of Jesus, you are not under the kingdom of darkness. You have been translated and the devil or darkness can’t control the happenings of your life. Know that before you came to Jesus, you as well as I were in the kingdom of darkness. In the kingdom of darkness, satan the devil has the authority over every one in the kingdom and that was why things were the way they were in the past. Now that you are a believer, please know that God has took you from darkness to the kingdom of light. He didn’t just took you there, but He first delivered you from all what the devil had done in your life then He made you anew in His dear son’s kingdom. Anything of the kingdom of darkness or satan itself can’t harm you. You are far above the reach of satan. Celebrate your translation and celebrate God and Jes...

Your Joy Will Be Full

Your Joy Will Be Full John 16:24 – Until now, you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full. The above are Jesus’ words unto His disciples [now unto us]. There is always an answer to request made in Jesus’ name. Jesus is telling us and giving us the full assurance that request we make in His name will be granted. So don’t keep your mouth silent, just ask now. The father wants us to be happy hence He grants our request not because we are in place to discipline Him if the requests are not granted. One of the reasons why your request and mine are granted by the father is that our joy will be full. I pray that our joy will be full. Nothing will stop us from continuous joy. Two things are very important in asking in Jesus’ name- Faith and praying in accordance to the Father’s will. The absence of these makes our request to be amiss. Tomorrow’s devotion by God’s grace will be based on the things. As you ask in Jesus’ name, may your joy ...

Ask In His Name!

Ask In His Name! John 16: 23 – "In that day you will ask me no questions. Most assuredly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. God always want His children to be lack free and He is ever ready to grant the request of His children when they ask. The main issue here is in what name is the request made? Several times in the scripture, we are told to ask in the name of Jesus and whatsoever we ask as long as it is in accordance to the Father’s will, will be granted. Beloved, there is no name on earth or in Heaven that God listens to and grant request. The name of Jesus is more than the seal of the president of a country. It is more than the seal of the world most powerful president. Any prayer that is made in the name of Jesus is granted. Hence, don’t pray in any other name. Read, John 15:16 …so that whatever request you make to the Father in my name he may give it to you; John 14:14; Mark 16:17-18. There is difference between asking ...

The Life you Have 3

The Life you Have 3 2 Peter 1:4 – Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. Hello dear! Have you seen it now that you and I have been given a divine nature? Yes! Christ’s nature is in us. Thirdly, this divine nature [Christ life] in us has made us to escape the corruption in this world. This affirms the fact that we have nothing to do with the nature of this world. Say to yourself, “I have escaped”. We are recipients of exceeding great and precious promises by His divine nature. Just ask what you need and you will begin to see them happening. Every day of your life, you have been endowed to have all you needs in Christ Jesus. Just begin to appreciate God for giving us His son’s nature. Remember, you are unlimited, an overcomer and you have escaped this world’s corruption. You are also strengthen that means you can’t be canned by the ...

The Life You Have 2

The Life You Have 2 1 John 4:4 – You are of God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world. Just say to yourself, “I am an overcomer and I have overcome them”. Christ’s life in you has made you an overcomer. How did Christ do it? If Jesus had not overcome the world, then you wouldn’t have. Christ overcame the world and resurrected – 1 Corinthians 15:14. Remember, Christ gave us His nature (His overcoming nature also) which is activated by our belief in Him. Beloved, see not yourself as a defeated person anymore rather know from today that God has given you and I victory. We have overcome the world and nothing [not even agents of darkness and demons] can trouble you. Just continually believe and stay in Christ. Celebrate your victory! Hallelujah!

The Life You Have 1

The Life You Have 1 Philippians 4:13 – I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me. Blessed day God’s heir. There is a life that we have that is not in subject to this world principle [terms and conditions] because we are not of this world. Looking at this life in today’s scripture, we [you and I] can do all things. Our life in Christ has no limit to what we can do physically. Since we are spiritual beings, we have been given the grace to control totally the physical. Look at the men in the Bible notably Elijah, they control the physical world. Beloved, you have the grace as a child of God. Be conscious of this fact that you will begin to live above the physical measures. Little wonder, we were told that when there is down casting, we will experience uplifting. I pray that we will begin to know that the Christ life in us is an unlimited life. Limit yourself no more. Christ strengthens you daily by His spirit and through your dependence on Him, hence you are UNLIMITE...
