Praying Amiss 4 Ephesians 6:18 [18] Praying always with all ... supplication in the Spirit,  watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; To persevere is to continue and disregard discouragement. Watching and perseverance in prayers are knit. You can't watch when you can't persevere and without persevering, you can have the faith to keep asking. First thing to know before coming to God in prayers is that He is a loving Father and loves to do the request of His children but His will supersedes ours and His ways aren't ours. So, your expected time may not be His but in all we need to persevere so that we'll not pray prayers of a double minded man due to discouragement. Beloved, Christ taught us himself about perseverance in Luke 18:1-8. Perseverance brings about unstoppable and incomprehensive miracles and answers. If Elijah didn't persevere, he would have not pray continuously but he did for seven times same with the man at Bethe

Having seen that praying in the spirit is very important and nonnegotiable, we will look at another thing will prayers are amiss. Today we will look at WATCHING and tomorrow will be PERSEVERANCE. Watching is the act of observing. When we pray, we should observe our life and the situation, to know the progress report. Prophet Elijah did this; he watched (observed) as he prayer for rain, see 1 Kings 18:41-46. Why should I watch after praying? Vain repetition of prayer points are likely to occur if we don't watch, Matthew 6:7. Also, while we watch, we should not watch we our physical eyes. Praying Amiss 2 1 Timothy 2:8 [8] I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting. Yesterday day, we started this series and we briefly learnt that when we pray, our spiritual being should be employed and not out physical personality. Here, Paul advice that wrath (anger) and doubt (fear) which are physical characteristic of the physical being shouldn't be seen in whosoever is praying. Remember, the anger of human works not the righteousness of God, James 1:20. That unholy angry in you makes your prayers to be amiss. Moses was supposed to speak (an act of prayer) to the Rock (Christ) but out of human anger, he strike the Rock (see 1 Corinthians 10:4). This is the message, when we pray with human anger in us we are Striking the Rock. Don't strike Christ. Doubt is not a spirit of God, it makes is unstable and spiritually weightless. Get rid of doubt (fear) and see yourself excelling in prayers. See 2 Timothy 1:7, James 1:6-8.

Praying Amiss Jude 1:20 [20] But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Praying is one of our channels of communicating with God. God is always ready to harken unto our prayers but do our prayer always come to God? Like the call we make, not all the calls get to the destination because of many factors not just lack of call credit (presence of sin). Prayer is not a physical exercise hence physical attributes are not to be employed in the course of prayer. Engage your spirit man when praying. Your spiritual understanding, emotions and mind should be used in prayers. When we pray not in the spirit, (praying in the spirit isn't only speaking in spiritual tongues); we are praying amiss. It's just like calling and shouting, the received will just be hearing noise and there will be no communication. Beloved when we pray, we should subject and submit ourselves to the Holy Spirit so that after all our prayers won't be amiss

After Forgiving Job 42:10 KJV [10] And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before. We might have read what Job's friends did to him. They didn't show themselves friendly. But despite all, God told Job to forgive and pray for his friends. See God preaching forgiveness by Himself! Beloved, the power of forgiving an offence can't be underestimated. You see, Job was restored after forgiving his friends. Does it mean that without his forgiveness he would've been restored? Look at what Matthew 5:23-25. Beloved that blessing or peace you long for might be tied you to your obedience of forgiving an offence. We should be like Job that never sought the death of his friends. Without Job's prayers his friends life would've been hell but Job love his friends despite all. Love is all. You'll See God! Job 42:5 KJV [5] I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye sees thee. Hello beloved! The wondrous and miraculous did of God you must have heard. But maybe you have seen any miracle or wonder from God in your life to testify of. But like Job, you will testify of seeing God wonders. Job though little of God but only to know that God is Almighty and He does great and mighty things that are far beyond the comprehension of human. Though Job passed through much pains to see and experience the wondrous and mighty nature of God, yours will not be the same. Thy Habitation Psalm 91:9-10 [9] Because thou hast made the Lord ... thy habitation; [10] There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. Beloved in seeking for God's protection and blessings we must first question ourselves to determine what is our habitation. Verse 1 advises us to deal in the secret place of the most high, God. It is when we dwell in God and make him our habitation then we can enjoy all the benefits in this Psalms and other benefits in the Bible. One can't be disobedient to God's word and be dwelling in God at same time. Also, one can't be an expectant of the benefits in God's word while outside of God's word. Esteem His Name Psalms 75:1 EasyEnglish God, we thank you. We really thank you because you are still near to us. This is what the wonderful (great and surprising) things that you have done tell us! I know that what you wish might not be what you have and your expectations may not be evident in your life, but God has been there for you. He stood by you and prevented the enemies to be victorious. Time Matters Not! Acts 4:22 For the man was above forty years old, on whom this miracle of healing was showed. God is the controller of time, remember he created time and since the beginning, He controlled time. With God, problems and issues that have out lived the time of expected solution can still have solution. Abstain From Evil 1 Thessalonians 5:22 [22] Abstain from all appearance of evil. Evil is not of God and it doesn't glorify God. God is good and does good. We are His children and we are to do good and as well be good. Here we are advised to abstain from all appearance of evil. To abstain is to refrain, it is not to do. Evil is anything that gives God no glory. People either are not comfortable with the happenings of evil. Why should a Christian not do evil? It's not that doing evil isn't enjoyable but it's not godly to do evil. The Turnaround! Judges 11:2, 6 [2] And Gilead's wife bare him sons; and his wife's sons grew up, and they thrust out Jephthah, and said unto him, Thou shalt not inherit in our father's house; for thou art the son of a strange woman. [6] And they said unto Jephthah, Come, and be our captain, that we may fight with the children of Ammon. Jephthah was rejected only to be begged later. He captained those that cast him out. Let's Return! Hosea 6:1 [1] Come, and let us return unto the Lord : for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up. There's no positive progress, growth and peace in rejecting the Lord. Remember that God told us that the rejection of knowledge results to Him rejecting us, Hosea 4:6. When a human is rejected by the Lord, he/she is exposed to all vices, unrest and attacks. Beloved in areas that we have gone out from the coverage of Yehweh, we should all return. In returning is our restoration, spiritual rehabilitation and re-empowerment. God is ever ready and willing to welcome and accept us whenever we return. But dear image of God, don't procrastinate your return, you don't know what the next seconds holds for you. God will heal and bind you back only when you return. Knowledgeable? Hosea 4:6 [6] My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. Being knowledgeable in this aspect is to have the knowledge of God (see verse 1). The Bible which is God's word is the source of all wisdom and none can do without it. It's raw knowledge and it gives raw wisdom which aids humanity in diverse sphere of life. Having the knowledge of God and His law will help the world to be in a better place. There'll be no abuse of humans and the inappropriate exaltation of self. Rejecting knowledge is rejecting God. Anyone that rejects his creator and source of life tell me how can he/she survive. Negative Five Hosea 4:2 [2] By swearing, lying, killing, stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood. Leaving the important undone and doing the negative results to one's separation from His Creator. God made us to understand that it's only sin that separates human from Him. Yesterday we saw that being Truthful, Mercy and having God's knowledge pleases God. Swearing, Lying, Stealing, Killing and Adultery are what God hate. These five causes human to be separated from God. God warns us against these things because a critical and spiritual in depth look reveals that they all shed blood even here it is reaffirmed. Swearing most times leads to dead; blood has been shed. Adultery sheds blood. Killing is shedding of blood. That lie you told against a innocent soul shed blood and so on. Important Three Hosea 4:1 [1] Hear the word of the Lord, ye children of Israel: for the Lord hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land. Greetings beloved. Just as a father gets angry so our Heavenly father gets angry too. God gets angry whenever we do not His will. If we say we serve God and are Christlike, then we must have the knowledge of God. Do our actions reveal that we have the knowledge of God? Are you truthful and do you show mercy to fellow humans? As our Heavenly father is merciful to all so we also have to be merciful to all. Most times the extent of mercy we receive from God is proportional to the extent of mercy we show/have showed to people. His Saving Mercy Hosea 1:7 [7] But I will have mercy upon the house of Judah, and will save them by the Lord their God, and will not save them by bow, nor by sword, nor by battle, by horses, nor by horsemen. God is a God of salvation not destruction. His mercy makes the difference. Yes God is a jealous God but His mercy out stage His jealous and anger. What we should do always as Christians is to regularly and continuously ask for God's mercy. God's mercy is a guard and it saves. His mercy helped the Israelites throughout the Bible days individually and collectively as a nation (even till date). This new week, may God's mercy be residual in your life thereby fighting for you. Too Late! Matthew 25:10-12 [10] And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. Is Your Lamp On? Matthew 25:8 KJV [8] And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. Lack of preparation always produce disappointment, frustration and confusion. The five that had no extra oil trimmed on their lamps only to find it out of oil. Beloved, is your lamp on? Do you still have oil in your lamp?? Your lamp is the reflection of your life. The way your lamp is so is the way your life is. The Bible admonished us that our light should shine to affect the heathen. Now let me ask, how can our light shine when our lamp is off and how can our lamp be on when our oil is out? Beloved, it starts from getting an extra oil. Let us always have oil in our possession. Always do things in the spirit. Always be spiritually proactive. Listen sir, it is only those that are spiritually proactive that are always on the move. Forget about the cares of this world and focus on your lamp and light remember that your lamp is a reflection of your life.

Extra Oil! Matthew 25:3-4 KJV [3] They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: [4] But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. Oil is very vital to everyone and everything. Non can do without oil. Oil produces light which is life. Hence oil gives life. Oil is a burden removal, oil is a softener and oil is quickens. Beloved, these fives pair some took extra oil while the others didn't. For sustainability in life and anyone one will do, an extra oil is needed. You and I don't know the event of things, we don't even know the duration of our stay. Hence it is imperative that we have an extra oil. The extra oil is not depending on our strength, wisdom and connection but depending on God. No wonder the Bible says he who wants to be wise in God must be foolish in the world. Loving Another? 1 John 3:11 [11] For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. In our daily life we are faced with the responsibility to love another. Loving another is a serious matter in the Lord's eyes. God wants us to love everyone on earth. On the Lord's return, love will be a criteria for judgement, Matthew 25:35-46. The King's Portion Daniel 1:8 KJV But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. On this earth, there is a king who rules not in accordance to the will of God just like the Babylonia king who was a pagan king. Daniel knew this and separated himself. You Have Jesus! John 5:7 KJV The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me. Beloved from the above scripture, we can see that Jesus is concerned about YOU and I. Did you feel abandoned and rejected? Jesus has not rejected you. This man was helped by Jesus when he had lost all hope. That situation that makes you feel hopeless, abandoned and rejected must be visited by Grace. Listen, that your situation will announced you positively. This man broke protocol for he was supposed to enter the water to be healed but he didn't yet he was healed. You're coming out unusual! That good people always take before  shouldn't make you lose hope because you will get the best! Child of God, you have got Jesus as you team mate. Be Strengthen! Daniel 10:18-19 KJV [18] Then there came again and touched me one like the appearance of a man, and he strengthened me, [19] And said, O man greatly beloved, fear not: peace be unto thee, be strong, yea, be strong. And when he had spoken unto me, I was strengthened ... Daniel's strength was consumed by the problems he was facing. He lost strength to the extent of not welcoming his breakthrough for he couldn't communicate with the Angel. What's that issue that has consumed your strength and time? Today, may you receive strength from Jehovah. That problem must be resolved! By the grace of God the battle is over. No Exchange! Genesis 29:23, 25 23 And it came to pass in the evening, that he took Leah his daughter, and brought her to him; and he went in unto her. 25 ... in the morning, behold, it was Leah: and he said to Laban, What is this thou hast done unto me? did not I serve with thee for Rachel? ... There are many things that go on in the spirit. Many forces hijack, delay and/or exchange people's blessings in the spirit just like the case of Jacob who was given Leah instead of Rachel. Beloved, I have come to tell you that whatsoever that has been exchanging, delaying or hijacking your blessings in the spirit must receive God's Judgement. Listen beloved, the Prince of Persia tried to hijack Daniel's blessings but God intervene, Daniel 10:13. God will intervene in your situation. That Angel of your sent by God must deliver to you. Divine Multiplication Ezekiel 36:9-11 ” 9 For, behold, I am for you, and I will turn unto you, and ye shall be tilled and sown: 10 And I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, even all of it: and the cities shall be inhabited, and the wastes shall be builded: 11 And I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and bring fruit: and I will settle you after your old estates, and will do better unto you than at your beginnings: and ye shall know that I am the LORD. ” Success is speedily attained by multiplication and not addition. Luz to Bethel Genesis 28:19 And he called the name of that place Beth-el: but the name of that city was called Luz at the first. Luz means a place of almond trees but Bethel is the house of the Lord. The difference is clear. Where God is, is more fruitful than where trees are. Where the Lord is, is more protective than where trees are. I Will Spread!!! Genesis 28:13-14 " 13 And behold, the LORD stood above it and said, "I am the LORD, the God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac; the land on which you lie I will give to you and to your descendants;  14 and your descendants shall be like the dust of the earth, and you shall spread abroad to the west and to the east and to the north and to the south; and by you and your descendants shall all the families of the earth bless themselves." 2017 New Year Message Beloved, I welcome you into this year 2017 of our Lord. This year, the Lord has given us a theme for the year by revelation; hence this year’s theme is “STEADY SPEED! NO DELAY!! DIVINE FAVOUR!!!” Last year God also by revelation gave us the theme, “TOTAL INCREASE & PERFECT REST”. Lots of people were blessed and I myself was also blessed by the revelation theme. Nehemiah got a steady speed in his concerned because his concern was on the promotion of God and it was a good concern. He encountered no delay and he and his people were highly favoured; the hand of the Lord was on them. The enemies could not stop them even the authorities (the governors on the other side) and every person responded to their needs due to the letter and authority of the king.
