Name Is Powerful!
1 Chronicles 4:9-10 – And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow. And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.
Name is a means of identification. Everything on earth and in Heaven have name. Spiritually and physically, name is very powerful. Say to yourself, “Whatever negative name I am named in the spiritual or physical will not affect me, in Jesus name”.
Here we are presented with a case about a man named Jabez [meaning sorrow]. He was an honourable man [for God created a man of honour – Genesis 1:27-28] but his honour was limited by the name he was answering. Spiritually, he should be a man made with honour but this honour was not manifesting in the physical because his mother countered it with her pronunciation as Jebez was born.
The power in name can be seen and demonstrated in what Adam did that whatever he called the creatures of God that is what they are – Genesis 2:19. Also, Jesus was given a name by His father to demonstrate Jesus’ supremacy over everyone – Philippians 2:9.
I pray that every name you have been answering in the physical or spiritual that is limiting the manifestation of God’s wish for you, must be erase out of your life. You will not be limited by your name and your name will not kill you. Beloved, please pray the prayer of Jabez for yourself. May the name and blood of Jesus speak for you now and always in Jesus name, Amen [Hebrews 12:24]. Shalom.
