A Wounded Spirit

Proverbs 18:14 - ... but a wounded spirit who can bear?

Are you still wondering on the strength and power of the spirit? Yesterday, we saw a dimension of the strength the spirit of man possess. Every spirit in man is very powerful but totally in subjection to the spirit of God. You can attest what the spirit in the man that Jesus cast out, did to the bound man!



It is better to hurt the flesh than to hurt the spirit. This is the same with the warning given to us in Ephesians on not to provoke and sin against the Holy Spirit.

The flesh can be hurt with physical tools but to hurt the spirit is mostly through our words. This is why the Lord warned us severally against using rash and hash words. Please, guide against hurting the spirit of man. You can also hurt your spirit by yourselves, so watch out and be safe!

"Rend your heart, and not your garments." --Joel 2:13 Apart from vital godliness all religion is utterly vain; offered without a sincere heart, every form of worship is a solemn sham and an impudent mockery of the majesty of heaven. HEART-RENDING is divinely wrought and solemnly felt. It is a secret grief which is personally experienced, not in mere form, but as a deep, soul-moving work of the Holy Spirit upon the inmost heart of each believer. It is not a matter to be merely talked of and believed in, but keenly and sensitively felt in every living child of the living God. It is powerfully humiliating, and completely sin-purging; but then it is sweetly preparative for those gracious consolations which proud un-humbled spirits are unable to receive; and it is distinctly discriminating, for it belongs to the elect of God, and to them alone.

Faulty Covenant

Faulty Covenant Hebrews 8:7 [7] For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. Covenant as a strong bound that is not easily broken can be faulty. The covenant made betwixt God and the Israelites was a faulty covenant in this time of Grace but perfect in it's time. The covenant wasn't to lead sinner's unto Christ's but it was to lead them unto their destructive end quickly. The old covenant was a period of darkness and pains (because it was more by works and not by grace) but thanks to God who invalidated the old covenant and gave us the covenant of Grace where Jesus is the mediator no longer Moses. God spoken of the new covenant long ago in Jeremiah 31:31; it was manifested in Christ. This new covenant brings light to the soul.
