Read: 1st Timothy 6:6-11

6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.

Bible in one year: Nehemiah 1-3, Ecclesiastes 7:19-29

The moment a person makes up his mind to focus his passion and life on seeking after the things of God, he becomes very content with life. There are lots of people who are not enjoying their lives because they are being consumed with the mundane things of this world. As a child of God, your focus and attention should centre on the Word of God which will help you live life with a sense of fulfilment. It is not the abundance of what you have that determines the joy that you get in life. I have been privileged to get close to many wealthy and influential people, and I have concluded that the best kind of life is a life of simplicity. There are people, who focus on gaining worldly possessions, but those who know the essence of life will focus on things of the spirit and they will not allow the lust of this world to consume their hearts.

“I know both how to be abased and I know how to abound: everywhere and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.”Philippians 4:12

Paul had learnt how to content in poverty and in wealth. This should also be the life of every child of God, because it is only in Christ that one understands the purpose of all things. Paul learnt how to be poor without complaining about his circumstances. He knew how to go about his life in situations of want knowing that God was in charge of his life. It is no news that the greatest problem of man is greed; it is also the major cause of underdevelopment in many nations, as those that have been entrusted with the resources are continually greedily trying to acquire more money.

As believers, we must know how to possess money without money possessing us. We should not follow the examples of those who have allowed money to become an idol in their lives. Any time we are in need, we should call on God; it is only Jesus Christ who gives strength to overcome the despair and discouragement of such moments, and any time we are in wealth, we need Christ to help us exercise full control over the wealth. There is nothing we go through that we don’t have the power to endure because our strength is of the Lord. We must not become obsessed with the gains of this world at the expense of our souls, especially since it not possession that brings happiness. Christ is the source of happiness; therefore, it is the foundation we have in Him that determines the extent of our contentment in life. We must not allow the process of getting rich deny us the ultimate satisfaction and joy in Christ Jesus. We should not become spiritually bankrupt because we are on a quest to get rich. We should not stray away from the faith because we want money. God is more than able to supply all our needs as we put our trust in Him and follow His instructions for our lives.

Sheep’s Clothing!

Sheep’s Clothing! Matthew 7:14 – Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. It is no more a news that there are many false prophets in this world. They have been even since the Bible days. Elymas in Acts 13:8 was a false prophet that tried to pervert the heart of the people from God. That is the work of these false prophets. They are workers of the devil and nothing about their life is God’s; from the outside they look like God’s prophets and messengers but they are recruiting souls for the devil. They use magic, human wisdom, human strategies to do their work. Consider again, Balaam to an extent I will consider him as a false prophet because he tried to curse the blessed of God and to stop the will of God for His children. Though Balaam hears from God but he wasn’t doing things according to God’s plan and agenda. He planned to even make God’s children fall. Please read Revelation 2:14 and Jude 1:11. Those in sheep’s c

Ceaseless Celebration

Ceaseless Celebration Leviticus 26:6 – And I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid: and I will rid evil beasts out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land Ezekiel 32:1-10; 34:25-31, Esther 9:1-22, Jeremiah 52:31-34 With Joy, I welcome you all into this month. In this month, we will record ceaseless celebration on every side. This is as a result of what God has done for us and what He is doing as well. He has given us peace and rest on every side. He has incapacitated the enemies of our lives. This is indeed wonderful. In this last month of 2017, the magnitude of God’s judgement on the enemies of your life will render them missing on Earth and you will be celebrated. If you haven’t celebrated this year, this month grace will make you celebrate and if you had celebrated, your celebration will not cease or to sorrow. God will put laughter on your face, royal garments on you and you will be recompensed for all the cel

Grace for Exceeding Multiplication

Grace for Exceeding Multiplication Genesis 17:1-2, 2 Corinthians 8:9 [2] And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly. Grace is God's Riches At Christ Expense. It is the almightiness of God invading the hopelessness of human. It is a commander of attention. It reduces sweat and increases accomplishments, Psalm 89:20. Exceeding means to be very great and to surpass others. To set a new record. Multiplication is to increase greatly in number, not step by step as in addition. PREREQUISITE 1 - OBEDIENCE - Leviticus 25:18 You can't increase when you are unfaithful in your tithing obligation and others. 2 - REMEMBER THOSE THAT HAVE RULE OVER YOU - Hebrews 13:7. The blessing is given by GRACE and the blessing can be multiplied by GRACE, 2 Corinthians 8:1-4, Acts 4:32-35. PRAYERS May Divine grace for expansion be released upon us - Amen. ________________ A sermon by Apostle Samuel Idedevwo of Christ's Chosen Church of God
