Receiving the Covenant of Peace
Numbers 25:11-12 – Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, hath turned my wrath away from the children of Israel, while he was zealous for my sake among them, that I consumed not the children of Israel in my jealousy. Wherefore say, Behold, I give unto him my covenant of peace:
God always look for people to stand in the gap. He looks for people that will be zealous for His purpose. He looks for those that will be filled with passion for saving souls. God looks for people that will be reconcilers between the straying believer and God as well as between the sinner and God.
Phinehas did great by saving the souls of the disobeying Israelites. He stood in the gap and he was zealous for God. For what he did, God rewarded him with the covenant of peace and of everlasting priesthood. The covenant was not just for Phinehas but also for his seeds. Read verse 13 [ … because he was zealous for his God …]
Beloved, if you need the covenant of peace, then be zealous for Jehovah and save souls. Try to save souls. Those that work for God are always reward and yours won’t be an exception. Go out for evangelism and save the perishing [Daniel 12:2-3]. Shalom.
Prayer
