Why Praising God?

“Praise ye the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.” - - - Psalm 147:1
We are admonished here to praise God and that it is pleasant to praise God but why should one praise God?

It doesn’t matter what our predicament maybe; whether we are in good state or not, all that we are instructed to do is to praise God. This is not because of our predicaments and conditions but for who God is.

We are to praise God for who He is and not necessary for what He has done for us or for what we are expecting from Him. This is the reason why we should praise God!

This psalm made a list of different wonders and mercies of God that calls for us to praise Jehovah. In praising God, we should not be self-centred and we shouldn’t wait till God has done something for us before we will praise Him. Always praise God.

It is a secret grief which is personally experienced, not in mere form, but as a deep, soul-moving work of the Holy Spirit upon the inmost heart of each believer. It is not a matter to be merely talked of and believed in, but keenly and sensitively felt in every living child of the living God. It is powerfully humiliating, and completely sin-purging; but then it is sweetly preparative for those gracious consolations which proud un-humbled spirits are unable to receive; and it is distinctly discriminating, for it belongs to the elect of God, and to them alone.

Faulty Covenant

Faulty Covenant Hebrews 8:7 [7] For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. Covenant as a strong bound that is not easily broken can be faulty. The covenant made betwixt God and the Israelites was a faulty covenant in this time of Grace but perfect in it's time. The covenant wasn't to lead sinner's unto Christ's but it was to lead them unto their destructive end quickly. The old covenant was a period of darkness and pains (because it was more by works and not by grace) but thanks to God who invalidated the old covenant and gave us the covenant of Grace where Jesus is the mediator no longer Moses. God spoken of the new covenant long ago in Jeremiah 31:31; it was manifested in Christ. This new covenant brings light to the soul.
