Never His Interest!

Never His Interest! Genesis 18:25 – That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right? God is never interested in the death of sinner hence, this bargain between Him and Abraham. God always want sinners to come to repentance. He doesn’t want to destroy because of few sinners. This speaks of the mercy of God. I believe that fifty (50) people is not one-hundredth of the population of Sodom and Gomorrah, but God was ready to save Sodom and Gomorrah if fifty people that are righteous had been found. God wants all sinners to repent and in no way is He interested in the death of sinners – Ezekiel 18:23. Nevertheless, continuation in sin and neglect of God’s grace and compassion will result to the death of sinners just as in the case of Sodom and Gomorrah. Let’s all accept God’s mercy and don’t continue in sin – Romans 6:1. Shalom.

Genuine Love

Genuine Love Genesis 18:24 – Peradventure there be fifty righteous within the city: wilt thou also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein? Those who love God love their fellow men, and earnestly supplicate for them the mercies which they need. This was what Abraham did for Sodom and Gomorrah. Abraham was not supplicating for Sodom and Gomorrah because of Lot’s sake but he was doing it for the Love He has for God. Everyone that truly love God also love fellow human. This is what God through his vessel in 1 John 4:20. The love of God doesn’t make a man to condemn another even if the person is in sin. The love of God make people to love people even sinners but not necessary their actions. Love as God love – 1 John 4:12, 1 John 4:11. Beloved, love people genuinely as God love. If you love people then God dwell in you. Shalom!

The Great Question

The Great Question Genesis 18:23 – And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked? This is an invariable principle of justice, that the righteous shall not be punished for the crimes of the impious. Thus Abraham lays hold of this speech as the foundation of his supplications. This scripture also show the efficacy of prayer and intercession. Abraham reasoned justly as to the rectitude of the divine procedure and many guilty cities and nations have been spared on account of God's people (Romans 3:5-6; Matthew 5:13; 24:22). Beloved, the righteous will never be destroyed with the unrighteous hence continue in your righteousness and don’t be fretted at the prosperity of the unrighteous. This is why the Lord said we should remain and continue in righteousness – Revelation 22:11. God will give us the grace to remain righteous in Him in Jesus name – Amen.
