Lord's Jealousy
Exodus 34:14
For thou shalt worship no other god: for the Lord , whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:
Also Read: Deut. 4:24; 6:15; 29:20, 1 Cor. 10:22, Ezekiel 38:19
Jealousy is not always evil and in this case, it's God's way of guarding His children (lovers) from doing and continuing in ways disobedient to Him.
From the verses, we call testify that God do jealous but His jealousy is a righteous act. Sharing God's glory, honour, praises and residence (our heart) with the creatures, and disregarding and disrespecting God triggers the jealousy of God.
The jealousy of God does not go alone but with His fire or wrath (consuming fire) and the resultant effect in a human's life is catastrophic in nature.
Beloved, God said, his name is JEALOUS. Hence since we know what makes God jealous, we shouldn't engage in them.
I pray God to help us by teaching us more about pleasing Him and empowering us to please Him. May His Jealousy and fire of wrath be not on us.
Shalom!
