The Lawful Captive
Isaiah 49:24
[24] Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered?
Hello beloved of Christ. Today let's briefly look at the above scripture with the topic in our mind. There is a prey and also there is a lawful captive. If we look at it physically, a prey is someone or something taken by force or violence maybe for destruction, and a captive is a someone and something that is captured and held in confinement. 'Lawful' in the captive makes the capturing legal and not by violence or force. So a lawful captive is someone or something that has been legally captured.
Spiritually, there are many people like that though they life in affluence and freedom physically. What made they lawful captive? Either their errors or that which the meant (fathers' error). God is not interested in knowing what brought about the lawful captivity but He is interested in setting you freeing you as long as you love and depend on Him. Cry to God to free you today!!!

It is a secret grief which is personally experienced, not in mere form, but as a deep, soul-moving work of the Holy Spirit upon the inmost heart of each believer. It is not a matter to be merely talked of and believed in, but keenly and sensitively felt in every living child of the living God. It is powerfully humiliating, and completely sin-purging; but then it is sweetly preparative for those gracious consolations which proud un-humbled spirits are unable to receive; and it is distinctly discriminating, for it belongs to the elect of God, and to them alone.

Faulty Covenant

Faulty Covenant Hebrews 8:7 [7] For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. Covenant as a strong bound that is not easily broken can be faulty. The covenant made betwixt God and the Israelites was a faulty covenant in this time of Grace but perfect in it's time. The covenant wasn't to lead sinner's unto Christ's but it was to lead them unto their destructive end quickly. The old covenant was a period of darkness and pains (because it was more by works and not by grace) but thanks to God who invalidated the old covenant and gave us the covenant of Grace where Jesus is the mediator no longer Moses. God spoken of the new covenant long ago in Jeremiah 31:31; it was manifested in Christ. This new covenant brings light to the soul.
