God is a God that is interested in the growth and prosperity of His people. Hence he gives instructions on how His children should have the prosperity, growth and blessings that He desires for us. He wishes us to prosper (3 John 2) but this prosperity can’t come when His children are disobedient to His instructions.  God has laid down here another principle for advancement and increase – payment of tithes. Tithe is one-tenth of one’s income and it should be brought into God’s storehouse and not given to another house or person. There is always a way that is right to a particular place. Considering divine increase, one of the stipulated ways as ordained by the Holy Spirit is seen in our text today. Honouring Jehovah with our all is a sure way to increase. When we give God our all, He exceedingly abundantly supplies our needs to us. To honour the Lord with all our substance is to place all in the hands of God. When one puts his or her substance before God, that is not honouring God and increase cannot come.
