Fervent in Spirit!
Romans 12:11

[11] Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;

The Lord doesn't just desire human to serve Him in truth and SPIRIT but He always want us to be fervent, filled and steadfast in the spirit.

In our serving the Lord, we have to first serve Him in spirit then we should be fervent in spirit. Why 'in spirit?' The flesh can't please God, it's in enmity with the spirit. With the flesh none can please God. Guess you see the reason of being fervent and serving God in spirit.

Looking at some verses, Acts 18:24-25 - Apollos had a good commendation because of his ferventness in the spirit; 1 Peter 4:8 -  we're advised to be fervent in love (a characteristic of a Christian).

Being fervent in the spirit is being zealous of the things of God. The benefits of being fervent in the spirit are so numerous:
1) Spiritually Alive
2) Spiritual Champion
3) Physical Dominion
And so many others.

Beloved, I pray that God should revive our spirits.

It is a secret grief which is personally experienced, not in mere form, but as a deep, soul-moving work of the Holy Spirit upon the inmost heart of each believer. It is not a matter to be merely talked of and believed in, but keenly and sensitively felt in every living child of the living God. It is powerfully humiliating, and completely sin-purging; but then it is sweetly preparative for those gracious consolations which proud un-humbled spirits are unable to receive; and it is distinctly discriminating, for it belongs to the elect of God, and to them alone.

Faulty Covenant

Faulty Covenant Hebrews 8:7 [7] For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. Covenant as a strong bound that is not easily broken can be faulty. The covenant made betwixt God and the Israelites was a faulty covenant in this time of Grace but perfect in it's time. The covenant wasn't to lead sinner's unto Christ's but it was to lead them unto their destructive end quickly. The old covenant was a period of darkness and pains (because it was more by works and not by grace) but thanks to God who invalidated the old covenant and gave us the covenant of Grace where Jesus is the mediator no longer Moses. God spoken of the new covenant long ago in Jeremiah 31:31; it was manifested in Christ. This new covenant brings light to the soul.
