Let God’s Mercy Prevail
Genesis 18:15 – Then Sarah denied, saying, I laughed not; for she was afraid. And he said, Nay; but thou didst laugh.
Some days back we saw that when we doubt God, He get angry especially when the doubt is from a believer. The doubting of God’s word from a believer attracts a kind of harsh sanction. In Luke 1:18-20, we saw that Zacharias doubted God’s word and he was made dumb.
Also, in 2 Kings 7:1-3; the king’s captain (like second to the king) doubted and questioned God’s word and his sanction was to see the miracle but never to enjoy the miracle. But in our scripture today, Sarah was shown mercy. Her laughing at God’s word attracted no sanction. This is as a result of mercy.
I pray, in all areas we have doubted God’s word that we will be shown mercy. God will give us the grace never to doubt His word. Jehovah, let your mercy always speak for us. Show us mercy over our faithlessness and doubt in Jesus name, Amen.
