Hebrews 8:12 KJV

[12] For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

Many people quotes this verse often but fails to quote the prerequisite to this verse. Yes, the Lord dispenses mercy to all but this verse, a different level of mercy is referred to, not the general mercy. It is this mercy here that made David not to die for the sin he committed with Uriah's wife. This mercy is still at work today even in a higher dimension but not for all.

Knowing the Lord that is having a personal relationship with God, is the access to this mercy. Someone who knows the Lord cannot sin regularly and repeatedly, 1 John 3:6-9. Beloved, are you begotten of God? Do you repeatedly or regularly sin? Yes, we are growing towards perfection not yet perfect so if you are a victim of repeated sin, rely on the Holy Spirit to help you while you make the decision from your heart.

Know God; enjoy His preferential mercies.

It is a secret grief which is personally experienced, not in mere form, but as a deep, soul-moving work of the Holy Spirit upon the inmost heart of each believer. It is not a matter to be merely talked of and believed in, but keenly and sensitively felt in every living child of the living God. It is powerfully humiliating, and completely sin-purging; but then it is sweetly preparative for those gracious consolations which proud un-humbled spirits are unable to receive; and it is distinctly discriminating, for it belongs to the elect of God, and to them alone.

Faulty Covenant

Faulty Covenant Hebrews 8:7 [7] For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. Covenant as a strong bound that is not easily broken can be faulty. The covenant made betwixt God and the Israelites was a faulty covenant in this time of Grace but perfect in it's time. The covenant wasn't to lead sinner's unto Christ's but it was to lead them unto their destructive end quickly. The old covenant was a period of darkness and pains (because it was more by works and not by grace) but thanks to God who invalidated the old covenant and gave us the covenant of Grace where Jesus is the mediator no longer Moses. God spoken of the new covenant long ago in Jeremiah 31:31; it was manifested in Christ. This new covenant brings light to the soul.
