Consider The Afterward 1

Consider The Afterward 1
Hebrews 12:11 – Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

Heirs of God, I bring you Jehovah’s greetings of peace and joy. Life is a school and by virtue of our faith (belief) we are in the school where Jehovah is the Proprietor, Jesus Christ is the Principal and the Holy Spirit is the Proctor. We as God’s students turned sons can’t be left without His chastisement when we do wrong.

When humans are chastised, there arise pains and sadness but the acceptance of the chastisement by the chastised human makes him or her to not repeat the reason for his or her chastisement. To be frank, God’s chastisement is never for evil but for our own benefits.

For Christians to accept God’s chastisement, he or she has to look beyond the chastisement and firstly know why he or she is being chastised. After chastisement comes the peaceable fruit of righteousness. That is to say, that chastisement brings peaceful right living (not right living by force).

Beloved, know that your Father and my Father, Jehovah loves us and wants the best for us. Hence, He will never spare the rod and let us spoil, rather, He will spoil the rod through chastened and spare us.

God’s chosen and royalty, forget the present pains and grieves but look at the afterward. Look at the crown and reward of peaceable righteousness ahead of you. Just look ahead and you will gladly accept God’s chastisement, be it for our misdeeds or for our training. Shalom!

Prayer – O Jehovah the just God, give me the heart to always accept your chastisement. Grant me the grace to always look ahead of the present. Open my spiritual eyes and my inner eyes to always see the good rewards ahead of my walk with you.

Don’t Look Back!

Don’t Look Back! Luke 9:62 – And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. Have you answered the call to serve God as His son and daughter? Have you totally chosen Jehovah as your God? Have you decided to leave your old ways and cleave unto God? If yes! Beloved I congratulate you. But hope you took the cost of your choice?? [Please refer to yesterday’s sermon] God doesn’t want us to look back when we have answered the call, why? This is because of the following: Firstly, it brings shame to the body of Christ and makes people to despise Christ. Looking back is to be lukewarm and to depart from the first love! [Revelation 2:4, Revelation 3:16] Secondly, looking back makes the believer to suffer backwardness spiritually and physical. The faith of the believer suffers and takes a longer time to be rebuilt. [Hebrews 6:4]. Thirdly, looking back will make the person not to complete whatever he or she has started. This is w...

Heart Not Garment - 2

"Rend your heart, and not your garments." --Joel 2:13 Apart from vital godliness all religion is utterly vain; offered without a sincere heart, every form of worship is a solemn sham and an impudent mockery of the majesty of heaven. HEART-RENDING is divinely wrought and solemnly felt. It is a secret grief which is personally experienced, not in mere form, but as a deep, soul-moving work of the Holy Spirit upon the inmost heart of each believer. It is not a matter to be merely talked of and believed in, but keenly and sensitively felt in every living child of the living God. It is powerfully humiliating, and completely sin-purging; but then it is sweetly preparative for those gracious consolations which proud un-humbled spirits are unable to receive; and it is distinctly discriminating, for it belongs to the elect of God, and to them alone.

Faulty Covenant

Faulty Covenant Hebrews 8:7 [7] For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. Covenant as a strong bound that is not easily broken can be faulty. The covenant made betwixt God and the Israelites was a faulty covenant in this time of Grace but perfect in it's time. The covenant wasn't to lead sinner's unto Christ's but it was to lead them unto their destructive end quickly. The old covenant was a period of darkness and pains (because it was more by works and not by grace) but thanks to God who invalidated the old covenant and gave us the covenant of Grace where Jesus is the mediator no longer Moses. God spoken of the new covenant long ago in Jeremiah 31:31; it was manifested in Christ. This new covenant brings light to the soul. Every covenant that do not bring light to your life, be destroyed now by fire! Whatever makes you to live by work and not by grace be destroyed! For God's name sake, let everyt...
