Faith In Obedience To God's Word

THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL

DATE :Tuesday 2 June 2020.
TOPIC: Faith In Obedience To God's Word.
TEXT: Gen 22:1-3

MESSAGE
Walking by Faith and not by sight is one of the most stupid acts believers engage themselves. Obedience to and relying on God's word tend to put our reasoning faculties on hold. We need to follow God almost blindly. We are passing through difficulties because we are still very much dependent on our skills, and wisdom. Our wisdom cannot work out the will and glory of God. When God puts us to test, He does not intend to draw us to sin as Satan does. God allowed Job to be tempted that he might appear not only a good man but a great man. Now after all the hardship Abraham had gone through, God allowed sharper temptation. Strong faith is often exercised with strong trials and it is put up on hard surfaces. The information which was a command came without warning and intense confidence only in God who now is trying the heart. "Take  thy son not thy cattle, ram, cow. I must have their son not their servants. Not even that steward and I will not take Sarah either."  It would have been very easy for Abraham to sacrifice himself leaving his son Isaac to fulfill the promise of making him Nations, or has God forgotten his covenant?

"Take thy son, thy only son Isaac whom the lovest and get thee into the land of Moraih and offer him there for a burnt offering up on the mountains which I will tell the of". Beloved, is it not surprising Abraham fearfully obeyed and did not rebel or give any excuse to justify or argue with God at least for God to know that it is not realistic? But he applied Faith to obedience and wholeheartedly went with God's command even without giving the wife the slightest of the information. Beloved, God's commandments must not be disputed but should be obeyed without consulting flesh and blood about them Good day.

PRAYER POINTS:
START WITH PRAISE & WORSHIP..
1. Thank God for this new day and for His word.
2. Pray that God should forgive and have mercy on you for your disobedience.
3. Ask God to enable you apply faith to obey God wholeheartedly. 4. Pray God to equip you with the shield of faith to defend and and quench every firey dart from the camp of the enemies.

This is a publication of Christ's Chosen Church of God International. Have a  blessed day.

Don’t Look Back!

Don’t Look Back! Luke 9:62 – And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. Have you answered the call to serve God as His son and daughter? Have you totally chosen Jehovah as your God? Have you decided to leave your old ways and cleave unto God? If yes! Beloved I congratulate you. But hope you took the cost of your choice?? [Please refer to yesterday’s sermon] God doesn’t want us to look back when we have answered the call, why? This is because of the following: Firstly, it brings shame to the body of Christ and makes people to despise Christ. Looking back is to be lukewarm and to depart from the first love! [Revelation 2:4, Revelation 3:16] Secondly, looking back makes the believer to suffer backwardness spiritually and physical. The faith of the believer suffers and takes a longer time to be rebuilt. [Hebrews 6:4]. Thirdly, looking back will make the person not to complete whatever he or she has started. This is w...

Heart Not Garment - 2

"Rend your heart, and not your garments." --Joel 2:13 Apart from vital godliness all religion is utterly vain; offered without a sincere heart, every form of worship is a solemn sham and an impudent mockery of the majesty of heaven. HEART-RENDING is divinely wrought and solemnly felt. It is a secret grief which is personally experienced, not in mere form, but as a deep, soul-moving work of the Holy Spirit upon the inmost heart of each believer. It is not a matter to be merely talked of and believed in, but keenly and sensitively felt in every living child of the living God. It is powerfully humiliating, and completely sin-purging; but then it is sweetly preparative for those gracious consolations which proud un-humbled spirits are unable to receive; and it is distinctly discriminating, for it belongs to the elect of God, and to them alone.

Faulty Covenant

Faulty Covenant Hebrews 8:7 [7] For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. Covenant as a strong bound that is not easily broken can be faulty. The covenant made betwixt God and the Israelites was a faulty covenant in this time of Grace but perfect in it's time. The covenant wasn't to lead sinner's unto Christ's but it was to lead them unto their destructive end quickly. The old covenant was a period of darkness and pains (because it was more by works and not by grace) but thanks to God who invalidated the old covenant and gave us the covenant of Grace where Jesus is the mediator no longer Moses. God spoken of the new covenant long ago in Jeremiah 31:31; it was manifested in Christ. This new covenant brings light to the soul. Every covenant that do not bring light to your life, be destroyed now by fire! Whatever makes you to live by work and not by grace be destroyed! For God's name sake, let everyt...
