Idol Worshippers - Lessons

MEDITATION

Exodus 1:15-22
Some lessons from idol worshippers

1. The midwives were brought up in an idolatrous environment, yet they believed and feared the only true God above all else.
L Your godless background should not be an excuse for not seeking the truth and breaking off from false religions or ways.  vv17,21.
2. All the Egyptians and the task masters cooperated with Pharaoh in carrying out evil racial and hateful assignment except the midwives v11,12.
L Be willing and ready to distinguish yourself from majorityif you want to please God Exodus 23:2.
3. The nurses, in line with their professional training, had a strong conviction on the sanctity of life and were not ready to compromise it vv16,17.
Q Are you faithful to the ethics of your profession even when it is tough to do so? vv15,16.
4. Their fear of God made them to obey God above the most powerful king on earth at that time vv17-19.
Q Do you have such an uncompromising fear of God? Acts 5:29.
5. God is a faithful rewarder of the faithful vv20,21.
L If heathen midwives without a Bible or preachers can so fear God, then you are inexcusable before God.
Q What other lessons can you learn from these midwives?
Q Mention other examples of people with strong and uncompromising convictions who said NO to powers that be and YES to God in the Bible.

Lord, I ask for your fear that will not be intimidated by any living being๐Ÿ™
Lord, use your word to build strong, godly and uncompromising convictions in me๐Ÿ™
I hereby ask for grace to be faithful to you and stand alone for you at difficult times๐Ÿ™
God help you children not to be devalued by the spirit of compromise of this generation๐Ÿ™

Don’t Look Back!

Don’t Look Back! Luke 9:62 – And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. Have you answered the call to serve God as His son and daughter? Have you totally chosen Jehovah as your God? Have you decided to leave your old ways and cleave unto God? If yes! Beloved I congratulate you. But hope you took the cost of your choice?? [Please refer to yesterday’s sermon] God doesn’t want us to look back when we have answered the call, why? This is because of the following: Firstly, it brings shame to the body of Christ and makes people to despise Christ. Looking back is to be lukewarm and to depart from the first love! [Revelation 2:4, Revelation 3:16] Secondly, looking back makes the believer to suffer backwardness spiritually and physical. The faith of the believer suffers and takes a longer time to be rebuilt. [Hebrews 6:4]. Thirdly, looking back will make the person not to complete whatever he or she has started. This is w...

Faulty Covenant

Faulty Covenant Hebrews 8:7 [7] For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. Covenant as a strong bound that is not easily broken can be faulty. The covenant made betwixt God and the Israelites was a faulty covenant in this time of Grace but perfect in it's time. The covenant wasn't to lead sinner's unto Christ's but it was to lead them unto their destructive end quickly. The old covenant was a period of darkness and pains (because it was more by works and not by grace) but thanks to God who invalidated the old covenant and gave us the covenant of Grace where Jesus is the mediator no longer Moses. God spoken of the new covenant long ago in Jeremiah 31:31; it was manifested in Christ. This new covenant brings light to the soul. Every covenant that do not bring light to your life, be destroyed now by fire! Whatever makes you to live by work and not by grace be destroyed! For God's name sake, let everyt...

Everlasting Not Temporal!

Everlasting Not Temporal! Jeremiah 31:3 – The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with loving-kindness have I drawn thee Hello God’s Love! There is a love greater than the greatest love you have ever experience on earth, that love is the Love of God. Malachi 1:2. God love all but all don’t have the same love effect or love level. Long before we were born, God has already loved us. This His love is everlasting not temporal. This love is not subject to some conditions before it is demonstrated or shown. This love just flow from God our Father to us supernaturally. This everlasting love of God has made Him draw us from the troubles and problems of this world to His place of joy and everlasting peace. [Ephesians 1:3, Hebrews 1:1-5]. The fact remains that we did nothing to acquire God’s love but we do things to grow His love for us. In the same way, despite what we do His love for us remains but we ...
