The Love Of Money

THE CHOSEN DAILY DEVOTIONAL

DATE: Saturday 13th June, 2020.
TOPIC: The Love Of Money
TEXT: 1 Tim. 6:8-10

MESSAGE
Money is not evil and can never be evil. It is a legally binding means of entitlement to wealth, payable for all depts and taxes and regulated in supply. Simply put, it is a legal tender - a general acceptable means of exchange and measure of values. So we can see that it is not evil. Many believers, now have preference for money over the things of God. The love of money has drawn too many people a way to commit evil unspeakable. it has Led many away from the faith that they once adhered and professed to.

They now covet money,  amassing of wealth, insatiable and uncontrollable greed to get it quick and more has Led many including notable and numerous men of God into destruction and loss of souls. The love for money has made many to err in feet blinding their faculty. What? The love of money is the root of all evil as many marriages are now in shambles, ritualistic killing, kidnapping, betrayal is now on the increase. They that erred from the faith pierce themselves with many sorrows. Those that depart from God also do but treasure up sorrow. Apostle Paul warn Timothy and all they that love God to hid themselves from the Love of Money. Ministers of the gospel and every true believer should enshroud themselves with the things of God,  arm themselves against the things of the world and follow after righteousness, faith, love, patience and meekness with both men and God. Verse 10 of our Text says,
"For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows."
Good morning.

Don’t Look Back!

Don’t Look Back! Luke 9:62 – And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. Have you answered the call to serve God as His son and daughter? Have you totally chosen Jehovah as your God? Have you decided to leave your old ways and cleave unto God? If yes! Beloved I congratulate you. But hope you took the cost of your choice?? [Please refer to yesterday’s sermon] God doesn’t want us to look back when we have answered the call, why? This is because of the following: Firstly, it brings shame to the body of Christ and makes people to despise Christ. Looking back is to be lukewarm and to depart from the first love! [Revelation 2:4, Revelation 3:16] Secondly, looking back makes the believer to suffer backwardness spiritually and physical. The faith of the believer suffers and takes a longer time to be rebuilt. [Hebrews 6:4]. Thirdly, looking back will make the person not to complete whatever he or she has started. This is w...

Heart Not Garment - 2

"Rend your heart, and not your garments." --Joel 2:13 Apart from vital godliness all religion is utterly vain; offered without a sincere heart, every form of worship is a solemn sham and an impudent mockery of the majesty of heaven. HEART-RENDING is divinely wrought and solemnly felt. It is a secret grief which is personally experienced, not in mere form, but as a deep, soul-moving work of the Holy Spirit upon the inmost heart of each believer. It is not a matter to be merely talked of and believed in, but keenly and sensitively felt in every living child of the living God. It is powerfully humiliating, and completely sin-purging; but then it is sweetly preparative for those gracious consolations which proud un-humbled spirits are unable to receive; and it is distinctly discriminating, for it belongs to the elect of God, and to them alone.

Faulty Covenant

Faulty Covenant Hebrews 8:7 [7] For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. Covenant as a strong bound that is not easily broken can be faulty. The covenant made betwixt God and the Israelites was a faulty covenant in this time of Grace but perfect in it's time. The covenant wasn't to lead sinner's unto Christ's but it was to lead them unto their destructive end quickly. The old covenant was a period of darkness and pains (because it was more by works and not by grace) but thanks to God who invalidated the old covenant and gave us the covenant of Grace where Jesus is the mediator no longer Moses. God spoken of the new covenant long ago in Jeremiah 31:31; it was manifested in Christ. This new covenant brings light to the soul. Every covenant that do not bring light to your life, be destroyed now by fire! Whatever makes you to live by work and not by grace be destroyed! For God's name sake, let everyt...
